Facilitating Agile

Sessions, workshops, and ‘facilitated sessions’: bringing groups together for a central and shared objective - instead of meetings where everyone has a personal aim - is a growing part of the approach of companies to achieve success. Next to using this technique in general it is a core technique when teams, departments or organisations work Agile.

Agile in the Core takes this skill very seriously and has people trained and certified as Certified Professional Facilitator (via the International Association for Facilitators). The training is based on the six core competences of the IAF (Create a collaborative client relationship, Plan appropriate group processes, Create and sustain a participatory environment, Guide the group to useful outcome, Maintain professional knowledge and Model a professional attitude).
All topic in the training are connected to one or more of the competences. Amongst others topics are for example design of a session, conflict management, communication styles, group dynamics, team building, decision making processes, Agile hart beats, Agile dailies, Agile planning and poker sessions, etc.

The training process is based on the pedagogical concept defined by Confucius, “I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand". Based on this training participants will be able to facilitate very effective sessions in any environment and especially in Agile dynamics.

The training will be delivered by Arie van Bennekum, co-author of the Agile Manifesto, together with experts in both Facilitation and Agile.
